Volcan Mountain Foundation

Sunday, October 2nd at 9:00 am hike 'over the river and through the woods' of the Santa Ysabel Preserve East in search of fall colors, while enjoying Julian's brisk mountain air! This ranger-led hike will take you around the unique and beautiful Kanaka Loop Trail. Dogs are welcome but they need to be on a leash.  The hike will last 3 or 4 hours. 

This hike will include an elevation gain and loss of approximately 500 feet in 1/2 mile.  The total hike distance will be approximately 7 miles.  Please dress in layers as the temperature will vary throughout the hike. Wear sturdy hiking shoes; bring plenty of water and a snack for the trail. Meet at 9:00 am at the Santa Ysabel East Staging area at the north end of Farmer Road, 114-117 Farmer Road, Julian CA 92036.  Inclement weather will cancel event
