Santa Ysabel West Back Trails Hike, Saturday, May 27th, 2017, 9am-1pm

Date:
Saturday, May 27, 2017 - 9:00am

Saturday, May 27th at 9:00 am join San Diego County Parks Attendant, Bill Augustus on a hike through some of the back trails of the Santa Ysabel West Preserve starting off with dramatic views of the Santa Ysabel Valley from above.

Learn some of the history of this wild west goldmining and cattle town while hiking through a normally closed section of this beautiful preserve that you don't usually get to see. This is a moderate-to-strenuous 8-mile hike. Dogs are welcome but they need to be on a leash.  The hike will last 3 or 4 hours.

Please dress in layers as the temperature will vary throughout the hike. Wear sturdy hiking shoes; bring plenty of water and a snack for the trail. Meet at 9:00 am at the Santa Ysabel West Preserve Highway 79 gate--approximately 1 mile west of Santa Ysabel and 12 miles east of Ramona, across from 29313 Highway 78, Santa Ysabel, CA 92070.  Inclement weather will cancel event
