Wildcrafting: For The Birds! Sunday, January 24th from 10am-1pm
Location
Sunday, January 24th come learn the art of wildcrafting at the Volcan Mountain Foundation’s Volcan Mountain Nature Center at the headwaters of Santa Ysabel Creek in Julian. January’s wildcrafting event is ‘For The Birds!’ led by VMF’s new Conservation Education Coordinator, Janice-Bina Smith. A familiar face to past wildcrafting event participants, VMF is enthusiastic to now have Janice on staff.
‘For The Birds!’ will also feature Janice’s colleague Idyllwild, Audubon bird specialist and Singer-Songwriter, Jen Hajj (www.reverbnation.com/jenhajj) who will lead a short bird walk to explore and see what birds are in the area this time of year and what they like to eat. Julian’s The Birdwatcher store is loaning some feeders as samples for ideas, and Janice will teach participants how to craft their own natural bird feeders and tasty bird seed cakes, so you can entice birds to visit you at home.
If that’s not enough, Jen will finish with a mini-concert singing some of her wonderful and fun bird songs!
From 10am-1pm. Activity fee is $20. Click here to register
