Tamale Making: A Culinary and Cultural Fab Feast - Saturday, November 14 2026
Join us for a vibrant afternoon celebrating the sacred art of the tamale! Gather with us to hand-craft traditional indigenous tamales from different regions of Mexico, culminating in a spectacular, sit-down "Fab Feast" dinner. As we cook, you'll discover the deep spiritual heritage and cosmic history behind these native foods—a culinary tradition so sacred and unique that UNESCO declared traditional Mexican gastronomy an "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity."
Together, we’ll explore the ancient milpa farming system—where corn, beans, squash, and chilis grow in perfect harmony—and connect with ancestral roots so profound that the Mayan creation story says humans were literally shaped from maize. You will savor delicious black bean tamales for dinner, and take home two cheese and two chicken tamales, complete with authentic specialty sauces and recipes to keep the celebration going in your own kitchen!
