Volcan Mountain Foundation

Extended until March 31st.  The San Diego History Center portion of the recent collaborative Charles Reiffel exhibition is still going on until Sunday, March 31st.

This free nature program is designed for children 6-12 of age. Spend time with San Dieguito River Park Interpretive Ranger for several hands on activities to better understand and appreciate the local environment. Coast to Crest Challenge Series presented by friends and partners of the Volcan Mountain Foundation at the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy--a fun way to challenge your physical strength and endurance while exercising in open space with fellow enthusiasts. This new series will consist of both hikes and bike rides. The Challenge Series is led by David O’Connor, San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy Conservation Manager.  

Sunday, March 17th, join the County of San Diego Parks and Recreation department to help maintain the trails on the Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserve.  For more information please call the Ranger's office at 760-765-4098.  Inclement weather will cancel the event.

Do you love nature and meeting people?  Do you want to share your interests, and help others discover backcountry treasures like Volcan Mountain?  The Volcan Mountain Foundation (VMF) is looking for volunteer ambassadors interested in helping out in a variety of ways while having fun—public outreach, volunteering at events, outdoor education with VMF’s student programs, and much more!

All are invited and encouraged to join and support Volcan Mountain Foundation supporters artist, Coko Brown, and her husband, Tim Taschler, on Sunday, February 24th from 6-9pm, at the opening artists' reception for En Plein-Air, a Charles Reiffel Tribute 2013, presented by the San Diego Museum of Art Artist's Guild.
